During both of the filming days I focused mostly on the close up shots on the main character. I mentally prepared myself to correct my actress when I wasn't satisfied with her expressions or any of her actions. I focused on keeping all the subjects in centre during the close ups. the shot im mostly proud of is the ending scene where the two characters walk off and the camera automatically goes off focus. It didn't take too much takes to film and was genuinely happy about how it turned out. The manual focus I used during my second day of filming I was able to control what I want to focus on. During the last filming I learnt the importance of the gimbal if u want cinematic shots and hand held shows the naturalness of the film.
The explaining the scenes to the actors was easier then I thought it would be as my cast was very reliable and helpful, I made sure they understood the the script as well as the concept of the film so they knew what type of personality their character is. I actually even demonstrated the scene to them for example during the Airbnb filming, I was explaining to the actors how the door opening scene would be and what I wanted them to do. the actor needed some guideness as they were acting for the first time so it was good learning experience for both them and me. I reminded them to feel natural and we did multiple practice tasks before we filmed. the main thing I had to change about the performance was hand placements so they seemed narwal and had to make sure the weren't looking straight at the camera and not smiling when they arnt supposed to smile.
I made sure none of the actors were wearing red, as I wanted the red to stand out. the Airbnb helped the cozy atmosphere for the comfort of the friend and the main character. I included props for the scenes to look realistic Buch as party cups snacks on table and such. for the lighting I wasn't as creative as I would have liked to be as I diddd have the equipment but I did have basic lighting for the scenes. From last years fmp I learnt that managing production was important so I made sure to learn to do everything earlier so I would have time to do the post production.
As I prepared a shot list before hand I was able to be well prepared and I was able to film stress free. It helped me make sure not to miss any scenes. but also as I prepared the shots without knowing the location I had no visual expectations of the place so there for missed a pop shot of the main character opening the door for example. Mood board really helped the location but not really the filming as I didn't really think of the visual look of the scene when doing shots. I understood that on filming day everyone had to know what they were doing and are being asked to do.
